Volkswagen has issued a series of official design sketches hinting at the appearance of a radical open-top concept car to be unveiled at the Worthersee fan meet in Austria on May 29. Called the GTI Roadster, the new two-seater was originally conceived as a virtual three-dimensional image in a joint cooperation between Volkswagen and Sony for inclusion in the PlayStation “Gran Turismo” video game series. But with enthusiasm for the low-slung roadster running high among its design team, Volkswagen has decided to turn it into a full-size concept in homage to a long history of GTI models.
Designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone, the quirky BX proved to be a big success for Citroën. Eager to improve its brand image and to boost its already healthy sales figures, the brand put the popular BX on steroids and entered the World Rally Championship. Nissan is giving the 2013 Quest minivan the same base price as the 2012 model—$26,815 including the $825 shipping charges—and cutting the sticker price on two of the more popular trim levels. The top-trim Quest LE sees its sticker price climb of $290 to $43,465, but gets the around-view monitor added to the list of standard equipment. The sticker price of the 2013 Nissan Quest SV, one step up from the base model, was trimmed $1,310 from the 2012 model price to $30,565.
